First it was Kevin Gregg's comments that the Red Sox "think they're better than everybody else." We get it Kevin, your team is terrible and you feel sorry for yourself for having to play the Red Sox.
Now the Orioles manager, Buck Showalter, is showing his frustration with the situation facing Baltimore in the A.L. East.
Talking about the large contingent of Sox fans at Camden Yards, Showalter said "Well, we had a lot of Red Sox people here last night. We'll take their admission and put it towards keeping our players. Thank you very much."
Of course their were a lot of "Red Sox people" Buck, your team sucks and your fan base chooses to stay home rather than waste their money on watching a 39-55 team bumble through another losing summer. Sox fans that can't get seats at sold-out Fenway Park or who like to pound beers at MaGerk's will gladly eat up those seats and watch their team routinely beat the brains out of your team.
As for keeping their own players, we'll believe it when we see it. Any player that chooses to waste their career in an Orioles uniform in the 21st Century is a player that no one else really wants. The likes of Matt Wieters, Adam Jones, and Nick Markakis - the only Orioles worth anything - will gladly jump ship when the time comes.
Maybe, if they're good enough, they will sign with the Red Sox so that they can experience what it is to be a winner.
