Red Sox (3-10) vs. Blue Jays (7-7)
SP - Jon Lester (0-1, 3.72) vs. Jesse Litsch (1-0, 2.38)
1. Carl Crawford, LF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. Jed Lowrie, SS
7. J.D. Drew, RF
8. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
9. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
Three Strikes:
1. I liked Francona's decision to hit Jed Lowrie in the leadoff spot yesterday and I would like to see him keep him there. Carl Crawford will eventually get settled in a Red Sox uniform but I wonder if that process would speed up if he were a little lower in the lineup. I would like to see Crawford hitting fifth, behind Kevin Youkilis and in front of David Ortiz.
2. Josh Beckett is pumping Red Sox Nation full of hope with his last two starts. Having Jon Lester and Beckett as a 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation should be just what the Sox need to break out of their slow start.
3. With the Bruins on the verge of suffering an embarrassing playoff defeat to the Canadiens, the spotlight on the Red Sox will greatly increase so they had better turn things around and get hot quickly.
