Red Sox (2-9) vs. Blue Jays (6-6)
SP - Clay Buchholz (0-2, 7.20) vs. Brett Cecil (0-1, 7.20)
1. Carl Crawford, LF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. J.D. Drew, RF
7. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
8. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
9. Marco Scutaro, SS
Three Strikes:
1. The Red Sox are bound to turn things around from their 2-9 start and I am on board with all the "Hey, it's early" talk but this team needs to get it going quickly before their five game deficit in the A.L. East behind the Yankees turns into double digits.
2. Hopefully the good vibes coming off Adrian Gonzalez' new 7-year/$154-million contract extension will carry over onto the field and the Sox will take at least 3-of-4 from Toronto.
3. When Tom Thibodeou returned to Boston as head coach of the Bulls this winter, the Celtics faithful - myself included - gave him a standing ovation for his contributions as a Celtics assistant coach from 2007 - 2010. I hope that the Sox fans tonight do the same for Toronto's John Farrell, who was an integral part of Terry Francona's staff and is credited with getting the likes of Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz prepared to dominate the big leagues.
