ALCS Goes Back To Houston, Where Red Sox Will Win The Pennant

The 2021 American League Championship Series has been a study in shifting momentum.

The Astros captured Game 1 due to clutch hitting from Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa.

The Red Sox overpowered the Astros in Games 2 and 3, putting both games out of reach early with a barrage of home runs.

In Games 4 and 5, the Astros stormed back with good pitching and a whole lot of offense.

As the ALCS shifts back to Houston for Game 6 tomorrow night (and a possible Game 7 on Saturday), many believe that the Astros are fait accompli to represent the American League in the World Series.

I, for one, do not think the series is over.

I expect the Red Sox bats to wake back up in the bandbox that is Minute Maid Park.  I expect Nathan Eovaldi to pitch a strong game and shut down the Houston offense in Game 6.  I expect Alex Cora to turn to Eduardo Rodriguez, Nick Pivetta, Tanner Houck, and the rest of his bullpen for Game 7.

Count out these Red Sox?  No way.  They have been nothing but resilient all season and I still expect them to win this series and open Game 1 of the World Series at Fenway Park on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves.
