Football Picks

I know that I missed picking the Thursday NFL game this week but I have a good excuse.  My teaching duties required me to be at school for the always fun and entertaining Parent-Teacher Conferences.  I tried to squeeze it in but there wasn't enough time.  I was going to take Tim Tebow and the Broncos but because I didn't get it in, it just won't count againt the record.

This week's picks are using the spreads from BoDog and home team is in capitals.

NCAA

Nebraska (+3.5) over MICHIGAN
Nebraska keeps its hopes alive of winning the Big 10 Legends Division.

Clemson (-8) over NC STATE
Tigers are on their way to the ACC Championship Game.

HOUSTON (-21) over Southern Methodist
The Cougars are looking at a bid to the Sugar Bowl.

Kansas State (+7.5) over TEXAS
K-State has been undervalued all year, they will roll over the Longhorns.

OREGON (-15) over Southern Cal
The Ducks will host the inaugural Pac 12 Championship Game and still have a shot at the BCS Championship Game.

Last Week: 4 - 1
Season: 34 - 21

NFL

Buffalo (+2) over MIAMI
The Bills keep slim playoff dreams alive.

BALTIMORE (-7) over Cincinnati
A.J. Green's absence gives the Ravens the edge.

Jacksonville (Pick) over CLEVELAND
Not a game that many people around the country will be watching.

MINNESOTA (+1) over Oakland
Adrian Peterson will have a big day for the Purple People Eaters.

Carolina (+7) over DETROIT
Lions will win to set up an interesting matchup with the Packers on Thanksgiving but Cam Newton will keep it close.

Tampa Bay (+14.5) over GREEN BAY
The Packers can't win by three touchdowns every week, can they?

Dallas (-8) over WASHINGTON
Sad ending for Mike Shanahan in the Capitol.

SAN FRANCISCO (-10) over Arizona
49ers are staring 14-2 in the face.  I guess Jim Harbaugh can coach.

Seattle (+3) over ST. LOUIS
Seahawks sucked me in with impressive win over Baltimore last week.

Tennessee (+7) over ATLANTA
The door to the AFC South title was opened to the Titans with Matt Schaub's injury.  Falcons season could basically end with loss this week.

San Diego (+4) over CHICAGO
Bears have won four in a row.  Chargers have lost four in a row.  Of course I'm taking the points.

PATRIOTS (-15) over Kansas City
My biggest fear for the Patriots is that they will go on a 7-0 or 6-1 run against a slew of weak teams at the end of the season and go into the playoffs at 13-3 or 12-4 but without really fixing their defense.  The AFC is wide open, if the Pats defense can improve they can get back to another Super Bowl with Brady but that is a big IF.  Playing against the likes of Tyler Palko will not be a true litmus test of the Patriots defensive improvements.

Last Week: 8 - 7
Season: 73 - 68 - 4

The Eagles-Giants game is not on the board due to Michael Vick's rib injury.
