Between my Friday night shift at The Baseball Tavern (come down to the Basement) and a few family parties this weekend, I doubt that I will get a chance to do Red Sox game previews.
In their place, here are the pitching matchups for the Red Sox-Mariners weekend series.
Friday: John Lackey (7-8, 6.70) vs. Felix Hernandez (8-8, 3.26)
Saturday: Josh Beckett (8-3, 2.12) vs. Blake Beavan (1-1, 2.70)
Sunday: Tim Wakefield (5-3, 4.80) vs. Michael Pineda (8-6, 3.24)
The Mariners have the advantage in both Friday's and Sunday's pitching matchups with King Felix and the impressive rookie Pineda but the anemic Seattle offense gives the Red Sox the advantage and I expect them to take at least 2-of-3 this weekend.
