Football Picks

The NFL Playoffs kick off this afternoon with the defending Super Bowl champion Saints visiting the Seattle Seahawks, who won the NFC West with a 7-9 record. The Colts host the Jets in the Saturday night game and on Sunday the Chiefs will play the Ravens and the Eagles will take on the Packers. After a short hiatus, TheBostonInsider is back to let you know how to place your NFL bets. All picks are against the spread and the home team is in capitals. New Orleans Saints (-10) over SEATTLE SEAHAWKS The Seahawks were able to hold off the Rams in Week 17 to capture the NFC West, which is kind of like winning an award for looking like Ron Howard. The rain in the Pacific Northwest may keep Drew Brees and the Saints offense from making this a total blowout but feel confident in laying the points in this one. Saints 30, Seahawks 13 INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-2.5) over New York Jets This should be the best game of the weekend. Peyton Manning did a remarkable job in leading a banged up Colts team to the AFC South title and into the playoffs. While I don't see the Colts as a legitimate Super Bowl contender, I like their chances at home against Sex Ryan and the J-E-T-S. Colts 24, Jets 21 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (+3) over Baltimore Ravens The Chiefs looked terrible in a Week 17 loss to the Raiders and the entire country loves the Ravens this weekend but this is not the typical ass-kicking Baltimore defense. Matt Cassel and the Chiefs offense should be able to score enough points to advance to the next round. Chiefs 28, Ravens 20 Green Bay Packers (+2.5) over PHILADELPHIA EAGLES The Michael Vick comeback was an interesting story but I think the Green Bay defense can confuse him and contain his ability to create havoc outside of the pocket. That will force Andy Reid to make adjustments, which is not his strength in big games. Looks to me like "Always Sunny" and the Phillies are the only reasons to love Philly this year. Packers 26, Eagles 17 Last Week (Week 14): 6 - 10 Season: 108 - 96 - 3
