Randy Moss to the Vikings?

The news broke on Twitter (via Bill Simmons) about an hour ago that the Patriots are on the verge of trading Randy Moss to the Minnesota Vikings. Wait, what? It looks like Moss could be returning to the Vikings in exchange for a 3rd Round Pick in the 2011 Draft. While I'm not happy to hear the news that one of the most explosive receivers in football could be leaving for a draft pick, this move proves that Bill Belichick and the Patriots don't bend over for anyone. Moss voiced his displeasure at having an expiring contract after the team's Week One win over the Bengals and it is coming out tonight that he demanded a trade shortly after that game. Is it all that improbable that Moss is acting like a child and being such a negative force in the lockerroom that Belichick has decided that the best move is to cut ties now before the situation gets worse? I have defended Moss' demand for a new deal but if he is acting out so badly that the Patriots are going to trade him four games into the year, then I give up. I want to believe that this drama ends tomorrow afternoon with the announcement of Moss getting a new deal but I'm growing wise in my old age and I get the feeling we will be watching him play on Monday Night Football this week against the Jets wearing his old purple #84 jersey.
