I like the future of the Patriots defense. They have a lot of young talent that is developing in front of our eyes. Linebackers Jerod Mayo, Brandon Spikes, and Jermaine Cunningham join defensive backs Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung, and Darius Butler as the backbone of a defense that has potential but that is also going through some growing pains.
With that stated, if the Patriots are going to leave South Beach tomorrow night with a victory, they are going to need a big night from Tom Brady and the offense. The offense is Super Bowl caliber and Brady has several options to shred the Dolphins defense. He can go deep to Randy Moss, underneath to Wes Welker, or hit rookie tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez down the seams.
A win in Miami would go a long way uf Brady is to win the eighth AFC East championship of his career in 2010. The Dolphins are a quality football team and taking a victory on their home field in early October would allow the Pats to open the season at 3-1 and take an important road division win in the process.
