Happy Sunday

The Red Sox got swept in a doubleheader by the White Sox, scoring two runs in the 18 innings?

The Patriots defense has more gaping holes than a poorly produced porno?

So what? It's the last weekend of summer and it is beautiful in the Greater Boston area. And if that's not enough to cheer you up, I give you Bobby Finstock.

In the 1980s classic movie "Teen Wolf," Michael J. Fox' character garners most of the attention because - as the title suggests - he is a teenage boy who can transform into a wolf. The tragedy is that Finstock was not recognized for his greatness as both a basketball coach and a mentor to young men because of his association with a teenage werewolf.

The advice that Coach Finstock dispenses to his star player/werewolf is the kind of stuff you would expect to hear from legends such as John Wooden. His ability to put things in perspective while also handling a championship team should have given Finstock the opportunity to take over a major college program or even find work in the NBA but instead, the freak show that became that season derailed his hopes to move to the top of the coaching world.

Happy Labor Day!
