Tom Brady Wins NFL MVP
The Associated Press announced this morning that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has won the 2010 NFL MVP. Brady also won the 2010 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award.
This is Brady's second MVP trophy and he joins Joe Montana - his childhood hero - as the only NFL players to own multiple Super Bowl and regular season MVP trophies.
I wonder if the NFL Network would like to change Brady's spot on their Top 100 list that came out this year?
Brady's resume of three Super Bowls, four AFC Championships, 111-32 regular season record, 14-5 playoff record, two MVP awards, six Pro Bowls, and three All-Pro selections speak for themselves. Two of the quarterbacks who were ranked higher than Brady - Peyton Manning and Brett Favre - are great players but Brady has the better resume.
To Brady's credit, he accepted the MVP with grace and humility, stating that playing in the Super Bowl is his only goal and that the MVP, while a nice accomplishment, is not the true measure of a quarterback.
