The NFL heads down the regular season's home stretch with a lot of movement in the standings still possible before the start of the playoffs.
In the NFC, only the 1-10-1 Lions are out of the hunt. Even with 4-8 records the Seahawks, Bears, and Giants are only two games out of the last playoff spot with five games left to play. The Cardinals currently hold the number one seed but the Buccaneers and Packers are trailing them by just a game.
In the AFC the Jets, Texans, and Jaguars have begun their NFL Draft preparations but everyone else still is in contention for a spot in the playoffs. The Patriots, riding an impressive seven game winning streak, are leading the conference but they have the Titans, Chiefs, and Ravens close behind them.
Having five weeks left means we will not have a clear sense of the playoff picture until probably New Year's Eve weekend. Buckle up!
NFL (Bye Week: Colts, Dolphins, Patriots, Eagles)
