Red Sox v. A's (May 9, 2016)

Boston Red Sox (18-13) v. Oakland Athletics (14-18)
Fenway Park

SP - Clay Buchholz (1-3, 5.71) v. Sonny Gray (3-3, 4.84)

1. Mookie Betts, RF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Xander Bogaerts, SS
4. David Ortiz, DH
5. Hanley Ramirez, 1B
6. Travis Shaw, 3B
7. Brock Holt, LF
8. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
9. Christian Vazquez, C

Random Thought:

Sonny Gray, the Oakland ace, has been a rumored target of the Red Sox.  He would give the Red Sox a co-ace to go along with David Price (who's going to figure things out and contend for the Cy Young in the A.L.) but would come at a high price.

The Red Sox farm system is flush with prospects, mostly thanks to the drafting done during Ben Cherington's administration.

What is a fair price for Gray?

What would Oakland demand?

Would Dave Dombrowski part with Yoan Moncada or Andrew Benintendi or Anderson Espinoza?

If the A's drift out of contention in the next six-to-eight weeks, these are questions that will likely be answered, either by the Red Sox or another contender.
