It's clear that Bill Belichick is an avid reader of TheBostonInsider blog because just days after I advocated for the Patriots to add Mike Lombardi to their front office, the team is on the verge of making that exact move.
Having a veteran personnel man who has prior working experience with Belichick should help the team as it prepares for free agency and the draft. The Patriots are coming off a third straight appearance in the AFC Championship Game and have one of the best rosters in football but they also have some areas of need on that roster and to get back to the Super Bowl and win the fourth title of the Belichick era, those areas of need must be addressed.
The hope is that Lombardi will help Belichick make the proper choices in free agency and the draft leading to a Super Bowl championship next February.
