The Bruins may have lost out on Jarome Iginla but they have improved their offense today by trading for Stars forward Jaromir Jagr.
Jagr is no longer the dynamic young forward with the tremendous mullet who helped Mario Lemieux and the Penguins capture back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992 but even at age 41, he can help the Bruins improve their scoring output which is their most glaring weakness. In 34 games this year, Jagr has 14 goals and 12 assists.
The Bruins reportedly have only given up prospects Lane MacDermid and Cody Payne so they still have enough ammunition to add another defenseman. Bringing Milton native Keith Yandle back to the Boston area would be a homerun for the B's but it would probably be at a cost that general manager Peter Chiarelli would not want to pay so more likely candidates would be someone like Kris Russell of the Blues.
