The best two sports days of the year kick off this afternoon with the start of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. With 32 games over the course of about 36 hours, there is always something exciting going on which makes these two days better than anything else the sports world has to offer.
As for my Final Four picks, I'm taking Louisville, New Mexico, Georgetown, and Indiana. Louisville will win the national title over Indiana.
(I know I wrote the other day that I was picking Indiana to win the whole thing but the strength of Louisville's guards gives them the edge in my book over the Hoosiers.)
I do like Miami's chances to win their regional over Indiana (again, good guard play) as well as VCU's chances to make another Final Four run under Shaka Smart.
As for some upset picks, I have 11-seed Minnesota advancing to the Sweet 16 5-seeds VCU and Butler making the Elite 8. A couple of other potential sleepers could be Harvard (though New Mexico is probably to deep for the 14-seed Crimson to overcome), 12-seed Mississippi (a potential Sweet 16 team), and 14-seed Davidson.
