The Albert Haynesworth experiment seems to be over.
Both ESPN and Sports Illustrated are reporting that the Patriots have released the massive defensive lineman. Since coming to the Patriots from Washington in August, Haynesworth has been a major disappointment. In six games he has collected just three tackles and registered no sacks.
The Patriots are going to be in a dogfight for a playoff spot in the AFC and these are the kind of times that Bill Belichick needs his entire lockerroom to buy into his game plan. Haynesworth, although quiet in his time with Foxboro, has never been known as a great teammate and this looks like Belichick's message to the rest of the team that they need to be 100% in or else jobs - and the season - will be lost.
I wonder if the next locker to be vacated will be Ochocinco's.
