Football Picks

TheBostonInsider is off to Central Massachusetts for a wedding this weekend so the picks - which are as hot as they ever have been - are coming a few days early.

All picks against the spread (the Bible) and home team in capitals.

NCAA

Washington (+20.5) over STANFORD
The Huskies will put the first scare into the Andrew Luck Express but the Cardinal will pull it out in the end, 42-31.

Auburn (+22.5) over LSU
Top ranked LSU will survive the suspensions but will be in for a battle with the defending champs.

Oklahoma State (-6.5) over MISSOURI
The Cowboys aren't getting the recognition that they deserve.

CLEMSON (-10.5) over North Carolina
I'm riding this Clemson streak for all its worth.

Penn State (-4) over NORTHWESTERN
So what if Joe Paterno is living like it's "Weekend at Bernie's," the Nittany Lions defense is for real.

Last Week: 4 - 1
Season: 24 - 11

NFL

Tampa Bay (+1) over Chicago (London)
Buccaneers have experience with the trip across the pond and it pays off.

CAROLINA (-2.5) over Washington
Cam Newton runs (and passes) all over the 'Skins.

San Diego (-2) over NY JETS
I'm waiting for the Jets to beat a real team before believing the hype.

CLEVELAND (-3) over Seattle
Not a bad week to start Colt McCoy in fantasy football.

Houston (+3) over TENNESSEE
Texans take the lead in the AFC South.

Denver (+2) over MIAMI
Tony Sparano's career in South Florida comes to a close as the Tebow Era starts with a bang.

DETROIT (-3.5) over Atlanta
Lions bounce back from their first loss and hammer the Falcons.

OAKLAND (-4) over Kansas City
I'm a bit nervous about betting on a team that acquired its starting quarterback on Tuesday but what the hell, gimme the Raiders.

ARIZONA (+3.5) over Pittsburgh
Steelers fans better brace themselves for a losing streak after this one, Bill Belichick is a perfect 11-0 with the Patriots after a bye week.

DALLAS (-12) over St. Louis
A banged up Sam Bradford will make this a blowout.

Green Bay (-9) over MINNESOTA
Christian Ponder's first start will not be a good one.

NEW ORLEANS (-14) over Indianapolis
Colts get embarrassed on national television in Super Bowl XLIV rematch.

Baltimore (-7.5) over JACKSONVILLE
What will it take to get a good game on MNF this season?

Last Week: 8 - 5
Season: 48 - 39 - 3
