Football Picks

Just a quick heads up before you invest this week's check with the local bookie.  I've been drinking tonight so if I my recent streak of success is broken, blame it on Samuel Adams.

All picks against the spread (the Bible) and home team in capitals.

NCAA

Oklahoma (-10.5) over Texas
The Red River Shootout is a duel of undefeated teams but the Sooners are the main attraction at this year's Texas State Fair.

CLEMSON (-21) over Boston College
BC lost at home to Duke and Northwestern.  There is no way they keep it close at Death Valley, especially without Montel Harris.

NEBRASKA (-11) over Ohio State
Things go from bad to worse for the Buckeyes as the 'Huskers take out frustrations from their loss to Wisconsin.

KANSAS STATE (+3) over Missouri
The Big 12 farewell tour for the Tigers doesn't start the way they would like it to.

Auburn (+10) over ARKANSAS
The defending champs are playing with a lot of pride.

Last Week: 3 - 2
Season: 17 - 8

NFL

Kansas City (+2.5) at INDIANAPOLIS
Tease the Chiefs with the over/under (38) on the amount of times that CBS shows Peyton Manning's ugly mug while he holds a white t-shirt around his neck.  Take the over.

Arizona (+2.5) over MINNESOTA
I love how Vegas is trying to sucker the bettors into believing the Colts and Vikings will both avoid going 0-5.

BUFFALO (+2.5) over Philadelphia
The Eagles cannot stop Fred Jackson.  So much for the "Dream Team."

HOUSTON (-6) over Oakland
Foster vs. McFadden is a nice matchup for those of us who love good running backs.

New Orleans (-6.5) over CAROLINA
Cam  Newton will put on another show but Drew Brees & Friends will run wild over Panthers defense.

Cincinnati (+2.5) over JACKSONVILLE
I wonder if they will still be known as the Jaguars when they move to Los Angeles for the 2013 season.

Tennessee (+3) over PITTSBURGH
One has to believe that Roger Goodell enjoyed the news that James Harrison broke his orbital bone.

NY GIANTS (-10) over Seattle
I'm going to be pissed if FOX even thinks about putting this game on television in the Boston market.

Tampa Bay (+3) over SAN FRANCISCO
I like the 49ers but the Bucs are too tough to let this one slip away from them.

PATRIOTS (-9) over NY Jets
Lots of points for a rivalry game.

San Diego (-4) over DENVER
Remember when the Broncos were good?

ATLANTA (+6) over Green Bay
Aaron Rodgers is human after all.

DETROIT (-5.5) over Chicago
Lions (and Tigers), oh my for the Bears.  Yes, I just used a Wizard of Oz reference.

Last Week: 9 - 7
Season: 34 - 27 - 3
