Randy Moss Retires
Randy Moss, one of the greatest receivers in NFL history, has decided to retire following a Hall of Fame worthy career.
Moss was a force. He led the NFL in touchdown receptions five times and in 2007 set the NFL record with 23. He was First Team All-Pro four times. He also kept countless defensive coordinators up all night trying to figure out how to stop him. We're talking about a 6-4, 215-pounder who could run the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds in his sleep and had great hands.
He was also indifferent towards playing hard all the time. The Patriots traded him four games into last season because he was too much of a negative presence in the lockerroom. Moss never left a team on good terms and had a history of being difficult to deal with on and off the field.
Moss also never won a Super Bowl. He was a part of some great Vikings teams early in his career but they never advanced past the NFC Championship Game. The closest he came to holding the Lombardi Trophy was with the Patriots in 2007 but they lost in Super Bowl XLII to the Giants.
Hopefully the Hall of Fame voters will choose to remember the great talent that Randy Moss was and he will earn his rightful place in Canton.
