Lorenzo Charles, hero of N.C. State's 1983 National Championship team, died earlier today in a bus crash. He was 47.
Charles had a nondescript professional career, which included a stint with the Atlanta Hawks, but he will always be remembered for his last second dunk in the '83 title game that defeated Hakeem Olajuwon's Houston Cougars and gave the Wolfpack one of the biggest upsets in college basketball history.
