Three Strikes:
1. Tonight's game is the kind that I love to watch. The Red Sox are coming off an impressive sweep of the Yankees in New York to take control of the A.L. East (2-10 seems like it was an eternity ago) but because of a long rain delay last night the team did not arrive in Toronto until early this morning. It would be an easy one for them to blow off and I'm always curious how a team will respond when there's no real pressure other than to just get the win and keep up the momentum.
So, will the Sox show up tonight and get the win?
I bet they do.
2. It will be worth keeping an eye on Buchholz tonight.
He was supposed to start Wednesday in New York but a sore back pushed him to tonight. Pitching on very little sleep and against a lineup featuring Tony Bautista is tough enough but hopefully the injury will not be an issue.
3. Even the most diehard members of Red Sox Nation know the most important Boston game tonight in Canada is not being played in Toronto.
I'll take the Bruins, by a 4-3 margin, over the Canucks tonight.
