Thanksgiving and College Football Picks (Presented By Black Friday)
Yesterday was a successful day on many levels for TheBostonInsider. Got up early and ran a 5K road race. Caught my high school's annual Turkey Day clash with archrival Braintree (a game won by the enemy, 20-19, on a last second field goal). Ate a tremendous meal at my parents with over 20 of my relatives while watching football all afternoon.
All things considered, it was a great Thanksgiving.
When I got home I turned on the computer to see how my football picks did. Just as the screen popped up, I remembered that in all the action of the day, I forgot to post my NFL picks for Thursday's games.
To be fair and honest, I would have definitely picked the Patriots - who found a way to get it done in Detroit behind Tom Brady's right arm, Deion Branch and BenJarvus Green-Ellis' legs, and the Ty Law-esque play at cornerback of rookie Devin McCourty - as well as the Saints and Bengals.
2-1 on the day. Do you trust me? Of course you do.
With all of the big college games being played today, I am giving you my picks today. I will be back over the weekend to give you the rest of the NFL picks.
All picks are against the spread (BoDog) and home team is in capitals.
NCAA
ALABAMA (-4) over Auburn
Crimson Tide ruin Tigers chances at BCS National Championship Game and take the Iron Bowl.
NEBRASKA (-17) over Colorado
The Huskers leave the Big Ten by crushing longtime rival from Boulder who are also leaving the Big 12 after this season for the Pac-10.
OREGON (-20.5) ver Arizona
The Ducks clinch the Pac-10 title and move one step closer to the BCS National Championship.
Louisiana State (+3.5) over ARKANSAS
I would not take the risk of betting against Les Miles' team in 2010.
Oklahoma (+3) over OKLAHOMA STATE
The Sooners start their push towards winning the 2011 national championship with a big win over in-state rival Cowboys.
Last Week: 2 - 2 - 1
