Patriots-Jets

There are very few teams in the NFL that hate each other as much as the New England Patriots and New York Jets.

In just about one hour they will meet for the first time in 2010 in the New Meadowlands Stadium. The Patriots are coming off an impressive 38-24 win against Cincinnati in their opener while the Jets limp in following a 10-9 home loss to Baltimore.

After an offseason in which the Jets loaded up on aging stars and talked loudly about their Super Bowl chances, it would be a crushing blow to start the year off with consecutive home losses. It would be a hole they might not be able to dig themselves out of.

I usually like the desperate team in picking NFL winners but the Patriots are more than a little tired of hearing all the trash that spews out of the mouths of the Jets players and coaches. Plus, the Pats have Tom Brady at quarterback and I like his chances against most other NFL quarterbacks, especially Mark Sanchez of the Jets.

The pick today is 23-10, Patriots.
