Red Sox To Acquire Martinez

Numerous reports are stating that the Red Sox will acquire Indians catcher/firstbaeman/DH Victor Martinez. The price is expected to include top pitching prospect Clay Buchholz. The 30-year-old Martinez is hitting .284 with 15 homeruns and 67 RBI for Cleveland. He adds much needed life to Boston's offense and because he can catch, gives manager Terry Francona the ability to rest Jason Varitek more often.
