Okay, so maybe Jermaine Van Buren and Manny Delcarmen aren't the final solution to the Red Sox bullpen woes. On the night that TheBostonInsider asked Theo Epstein to make Van Buren and Delcarmen -- along with Craig Hansen and Edgar Martinez -- go-to-guys in the 'pen, both pitchers struggled against the weak hitting Minnesota Twins. Van Buren pitched 2/3-inning, allowing four earned runs on four walks and one hit. Delcarmen relieved Van Buren and immediately allowed a grand slam to Justin Morneau. Delcarmen's line for the night was 1 2/3-inning, giving up two hits, one walk, and one earned run. Van Buren's ERA is now 9.64. Delcarmen's is 5.25. For the record, Rudy Seanez did pitch a perfect eighth inning on fifteen pitches to lower his ERA to 4.39. Hopefully for the Sox he can maintain that type of performance. What this illustrates is that the bullpen needs some help. Other than Jonathan Papelbon and Mike Timlin, there has been absolutely no consistency from the relief corps. Theo, it's time to start looking for help!
