Checking In
Wow ... it's been a while. Between work, coaching basketball and my affair with Augie Busch's finest brews, I realized I haven't done any writing lately. I have a few thoughts on a few subjects so please, bear with.
The Super Bowl .... boring. Not just because the Pats were watching from home, the game was a flat-out stinker. Poor officiating got most of the attention but poor coaching and poor player execution were also major players in the XtremLy overrated big game...
Did you know Jerome Bettis had asthma? Neither did I. I thought he was out of breath all the time due to the combination of him being a 315-pound tailback and not ever shutting his big mouth...
The Red Sox start Spring Training on Saturday as pitchers and catchers report to Ft. Myers. For now, all I'll say is that they better stay healthy...
I understand college hockey isn't exactly a priority around here for most "fans" but the Beanpot deserves more pub than the freakin' Olympics...
Michelle Kwan pulled out of the women's figure skating event due to a lingering groin injury. WHO CARES??? She should have retired like 10 years ago and given her spot to a girl who still is unaware of what a groin is...
(Did I just mention women's figure skating? I suck.)
The BC men's basketball team is now 20-5 with a win over Stony Brook tonite. The Eagles are starting to build momentum with March around the corner...
Trade Paul Pierce? Maybe -- but only because his value is through the roof right now. Still, I'd hold on to him if I were Danny Ainge. Pierce is the only true scorer the C's have and without too much fanfare, No. 34 has turned into a leader on the court. Pair him with Al Jefferson, Kendrick Perkins, Delonte West and a few more pieces and this team could be a factor again...
