A quick Friday night note (as the Sox try to hold off the Yankees)... A friend of mine who was on the field for last weekend's Red Sox-Yankees series in the Bronx told me that according to the Yankee captain Derek Jeter, the Sox will not make the playoffs this year. Gutsy words from No. 2 but will they be prophetic?
