Red Sox-Tigers (August 15, 2005)

Rain washed away Sunday's game -- and saved the Red Sox home winning streak in the process -- but it couldn't dampen the spirits of Red Sox Nation. With 47-games left on the schedule, the Sox have a 4.5-game lead in the A.L. East over the Yankees. A long and winding road trip is slated to begin tonight in Detroit at 7:05 on NESN and WEEI. Bronson Arroyo (10-7, 4.28), who almost threw a no-hitter earlier this season in MoTown, faces Sean Douglass (4-2, 4.08). It will be an absolute failure if the Red Sox do any worse than take 2-of-3 from the Tigers.
