Throughout the 2011 season my goal is to blog about the Red Sox on each game day. The topics will include lineups and some random notes about the game.
Red Sox (0-2) @ Texas Rangers (2-0)
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. Jed Lowrie, SS
7. Carl Crawford, LF
8. Jarrod Saltalamachia, C
9. Darnell McDonald, RF
SP - Clay Buchholz
Three Strikes:
1. It will be a long summer if the Red Sox go 0-162 but it will be worth following them if David Ortiz hits 162 homeruns
2. Buchholz is coming off a terrific 2010 season (17-7, 2.33 ERA) and Red Sox Nation hopes he picks up where he left off today to get the Sox their first win
3. There is quite a stir on Boston sports radio about Terry Francona's decision to drop Crawford from third to seventh in the lineup but it will only be a temporary measure until Crawford gets settled and stops trying to earn his $142-million contract during each at-bat
